The Japan Times, Ltd. (Head office: Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo; Chairperson and Publisher: Minako Suematsu) will hold The Japan Times Prep School Fair, bringing together boarding schools and international schools from Japan and overseas, in Akasaka, Tokyo, on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026. Registration for the event is now open. Now in its fourth year, the fair will feature schools in Japan and overseas that have been personally visited by a Japan Times staff member who graduated from a Swiss boarding school, providing firsthand insight into their educational environments and campus atmosphere.
The program will include a panel discussion featuring parents who chose prep school education abroad for their children, offering firsthand perspectives on their experiences, as well as panel sessions with participating schools from different countries and regions. Families will also have the opportunity to speak directly with representatives from each school during one-on-one consultations. As globalization continues to shape education, boarding schools and international schools are attracting growing interest as options for children to experience an international learning environment from an early age.
For families considering overseas study or an internationally focused education, the fair will provide an opportunity to learn directly about each school’s educational approach, learning environment and boarding life, and to compare different options.
