You can tell from his stage name alone that Thundercat is exactly the type of artist to lend his music to some late 20th century pop cultural nostalgia. He's done just that today, following up this year's album Distracted with a new Sonic The Hedgehog tie-in. "Moving At Light Speed," Thundercat's frenetic new single with Grammy-winning chiptune artist Button Masher, is out today ahead of Club Chaos: A Sonic 35th Anniversary Celebration, "a one-night-only immersive Sonic the Hedgehog experience" taking place this Friday in NYC.
ET, the Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds World Championship Finals + Year Two Showcase will be livestreamed, followed by the Club Chaos concert at 8:15 p.m. Thundercat is set to perform at 9:30 p.m. ET, between Tee Lopes and Austin Millz.
All the festivities will be viewable at the Sonic Twitch and YouTube channels. Check out "Moving At Light Speed" below.
