All eyes are on HIVE Digital Technologies (Nasdaq: HIVE) this week as the Bitcoin miner prepares to open its books. The company will release its fiscal first-quarter 2027 results on Friday, Aug. 14, after the market closes, followed by an earnings conference call on Monday, Aug. 17, at 8:00 a.m. Founded in 2017, HIVE Digital was among the first publicly listed companies to focus on mining digital assets with green energy.

Today, it runs data centers across Canada, Sweden, and Paraguay, serving both Bitcoin mining and high-performance computing (HPC) clients, the latter tied to its GPU cloud business, which rents out computing power used for artificial intelligence (AI). With results due within days, the stock has caught investors' attention. He noted that the last time HIVE released results on a Friday and held its call the following Monday, the company beat expectations and raised its outlook. Sigel argued HIVE could see upside on the GPU cloud side, pointing to recent strength among peers, and said its Bitcoin mining figures should hold up because the company is growing its hash rate, a measure of mining computing power, while some rivals scale back. Sigel, who disclosed he had been buying the stock himself, also called HIVE cheap relative to peers, though he cautioned it is a volatile small-cap and "urged" investors to do their own research.

His view is one analyst's opinion, not a guarantee of how the stock will move. According to data from TipRanks, Northland Securities analyst Michael Grondahl reiterated a Buy rating on August 12 with a $6 price target, implying roughly 130% upside from where the stock traded at the time.

Other firms tracked by TipRanks, including Chardan Capital, Canaccord Genuity, and Cantor Fitzgerald, have also carried Buy ratings in recent months. The report will test that optimism. Investors will focus on how HIVE's Bitcoin mining output and its growing GPU cloud business performed during the quarter, and whether the numbers support the bullish case.

Management will offer its own read on the results during Monday's call. The HIVE stock was trading at $2.58 at press time. Disclaimer: This article is for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial advice.
