The Ole Miss Rebels saw their undefeated season come to an end at the hands of the Florida Gators on Saturday. However, Ole Miss star quarterback Trinidad Chambliss may be leaving the game with more supporters than he went into the game with after a classy gesture that fans took notice of after the game. Chambliss had another stellar performance individually against the Gators, throwing for 298 yards and one passing touchdown while also adding in two rushing touchdowns in the game.
Unfortunately for Ole Miss fans, the Florida rushing attack simply overwhelmed the Rebels' defense, rushing for 302 yards in a 52-28 blowout win for the Gators. Instead, Chambliss made it a point to embrace with Florida head coach Jon Sumrall after the game, waiting for the first-year Florida coach to finish his on-field postgame interview before sharing a hug and a few words with him.
Many media members and fans alike took to social media to sing Chambliss' praises for having the patience and maturity to make sure to greet Sumrall after the game despite the game not going his team's way. "Classy," wrote longtime college sports analyst Seth Davis in a post on X. "So easy to root for guys like this," wrote Andrew Russell of The 33rd Team in a post on X.
