The Brooklyn band makes a charming blend of indie rock and jangle pop, and they've opened for acts like the Pains Of Being Pure At Heart and Heavenly. If you don't like them yet, today's terrific track "If Not Soon Then Now" should win you over. Trinket is the project of Madison Kate Proffitt and Sean Camargo, who are also involved in other groups: Proffitt plays in Lightheaded and Betty Brite, while Camargo leads the post-punk band S.C.A.B.
Here's what they say of the highly infectious "If Not Soon Then Now": This song is very directly about starting a relationship with someone new; it's exciting, but you quickly realize that insecurities, fears, and things you've dealt with in past relationships don't go away just because you've started over. It's also about having something that you're excited about and are scared you’re going to ruin it with those insecurities. It's almost like just the fear of it makes your worries come true.
Their debut LP is slated for next year. For now, check out "If Not Soon Then Now" below.
