President Trump has indicated that he may not intervene in the Lindsay Clancy case after her attorney publicly called for a pardon. Clancy, who has been accused of killing her three children, has been at the center of a high-profile case that ended in a mistrial earlier in September. Attorney Kevin Reddington had publicly urged the president to consider a pardon during an appearance on Good Morning America on September 8. Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Trump suggested that the case is “actually a state situation, not a federal”. “It’s a very sad situation,” Trump said. There is no winner there. During the trial, it was argued that she had suffered from hallucinations and delusions following the birth of her third child. Eventually, the case ended in a mistrial after jurors could not agree on a verdict.
