This darkly comic Australian thriller is loosely based on the excellent BBC drama Guilt and involves a pair of bickering siblings who accidentally run over and kill a man. Cue a slow-motion meltdown as the perps flee the scene, the police sit on their hands and the victim’s niece decides to investigate. A convincing balance of laughter and horror.
Phil Harrison US conductor Marin Alsop marshals a rousing selection of 20th-century favourites, with numbers from West Side Story and On the Town bringing urban clatter, while excerpts from Aaron Copland’s ballet Appalachian Spring and Jerome Moross’s soundtrack to The Big Country take us into America’s wide open spaces. Jack Seale More claustrophobic thriller action in the Arctic Circle. Rose Leslie’s Kirsten has annoyed the Russians but, fortunately, the cavalry is on the way in the shape of her formidable other half, Amy (Suranne Jones).
But the more Amy digs, the murkier the circumstances around Hodge’s murder seem. Are they looking in the right place? PH A precision-tooled terror campaign by enemies unknown has turned London into a literal boom town.

In a shabby psychiatric hospital, Iron Maiden-loving inmate Pepper (Dan Stevens) is girding himself to take down an insidious demon. But before that we get the tragic backstory of Dorry (Judith Light), the facility’s longest-serving patient. Graeme Virtue A double-bill tribute to the late Dolly Parton includes Seriously Red, a romcom about a Dolly impersonator, but the real McCoy is here in Herbert Ross’s 1989 weepie.
