The Tennessee Titans are dealing with running back injuries as they prepare to face former franchise icon Derrick Henry. Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears missed Wednesday's practice with foot and ankle issues, respectively. Per ESPN's Turron Davenport, Titans head coach Robert Saleh isn't worried about their status for Sunday's Week 4 game at M&T Bank Stadium.
Pollard appeared on last week's injury report with an ankle injury, but he compiled a season-high 96 yards on 21 touches in a 12-7 loss to the New York Giants. The Pro Bowler has still had a slow start to the 2026 campaign, tallying 195 scrimmage yards without a touchdown in three games. Pollard has shared backfield duties with Spears, who has recorded 58 rushing and 41 receiving yards this season.
The former third-round pick played 28 snaps to Pollard's 32 in Sunday's loss at MetLife Stadium. Only four teams have gained fewer yards than the Titans, who rank 30th in passing and scoring. The winless squad has only led in one game, making it harder to establish a productive ground game.
Outside of Pollard and Spears, Nicholas Singleton is the only Titans running back to touch the ball this season. The fifth-round rookie turned four handoffs into 10 yards during their Week 2 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles but played solely on special teams against the Giants. Tennessee added reinforcements by signing Michael Carter from their practice squad to the active roster on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old could make his 2026 debut against the Ravens this Sunday in an AFC clash starting at 1 p.m.
