US House Speaker Mike Johnson has vowed that Republicans will fight back after Democrats made major gains in the 2026 midterm elections, taking control of the Senate and putting the House within reach. Speaking to supporters in Shreveport, Louisiana, Johnson acknowledged his disappointment but urged Republicans not to be discouraged by the results.
