Thousands of people were left disappointed on Sunday after tickets for Glastonbury Festival sold out in 42 minutes. Organisers used a new booking system for the first time which entered people into a virtual waiting room. Despite having capacity for 210,000 people, demand is always much higher than supply.
But those who missed out on Sunday should not lose hope, as there are other ways to secure a ticket for the world-famous event when it returns to Worthy Farm in Somerset from 23-27 June. Below is everything you need to know about how you can still secure a pass for the 2027 festival. 'My girl lost her limbs to meningitis - get the jab' 'Ageing without children can be hard and lonely' Jeffrey Archer returns to his former school library Organisers confirmed that general admission tickets sold out in 42 minutes on Sunday. Coach package tickets, which went on sale on Thursday, sold out in less than half an hour.
Organisers confirmed last month that tickets for the weekend were at their highest price ever - £408, including a £5 booking fee per ticket - an increase of £29.50 from the last event in 2025. In a statement on Instagram after the sale ended, organisers said: "Thank you to everyone who bought one and we're sorry to those of you who missed out on a morning where demand greatly exceeded supply. "There will be a resale of any cancelled or returned tickets in spring 2027." Tickets for the festival were sold exclusively by See Tickets and are strictly non-transferable.
Security will carry out thorough identification checks at all entry points on the site when the gates open to ensure validity. Any tickets found to be bought through third parties will be cancelled and admission will be refused. In a statement, organisers said: "If someone's claiming - whether on social media or elsewhere - they can get you Glastonbury tickets and it's not through See Tickets or directly from us, do not risk it." They added that they are made aware of people "losing large sums of money" every year on fake tickets.
"Please do not fall victim to these scams," they said. Anybody who missed out at the general sale can attempt to buy resale tickets at a later date. The sale will include cancelled or returned tickets.
An exact date is yet to be confirmed, but organisers said the sale will take place in spring. The festival and its associated charities and organisations always need volunteers to help keep things running smoothly at Worthy Farm. Normally, volunteers are required to work three eight-hour shifts in return for a pass to the festival, but the expectation does vary.
