The alleged suspect in a shooting in a downtown Minneapolis apartment building was evicted for threatening other residents with a gun, according to a report. The shooting on Wednesday afternoon left three people dead, including the suspect, and five others wounded, including three Minneapolis police officers. Authorities have not released the name of the suspected shooter, but local news station KTSP said witnesses identified the man as Carlton Johnson II.

Fox 9 also identified Johnson as the suspect, citing unnamed sources. Johnson was in the process of being evicted from a 9th floor unit in the apartment building, according to records obtained by KTSP. A hearing in the case was scheduled for September 11.

The Loring Tower building’s management company filed a complaint that said Johnson’s lease was to be terminated in June after he assaulted another resident in the building, openly displayed a firearm and threatened to kill someone, the report said This is a developing story.
