Touted as the most ambitious sci-fi pic ever made in Spanish, Gonzalo Gutiérrez’s “Pacific” (“Pacifico”) will make its European bow at the prominent Sitges Fantasy Film Festival in October and is selling fast to buyers worldwide. Thus far, it has sold to Taiwan’s Av-Jet; MVP Pictures for India and Poland’s Media4fun. Nashe Kino will release it across cinemas in Russia and CIS and Splendid Films across German-speaking territories in the second quarter of 2027.
Reportedly made for $10 million, the creature feature will be theatrically released in Mexico by Cinemex early next year. It stars some of the most bankable Latin/U.S. Hispanic stars, including María Gabriela de Faría (“Superman”), Manolo Cardona (“Narcos”), Christopher Von Uckermann (“Rebelde”) and Claudio Cataño (“One Hundred Years of Solitude”).
