New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone humorously admitted following the team's 5-3 win over the Colorado Rockies that Aaron Judge got upset with him for one of his in-game decisions. While speaking to reporters, Boone shared that Judge was unhappy with the Yankees manager for taking him out of the game before the seventh inning. "He's not real pleased with me for taking him out," Boone said about Judge while laughing.
Judge wanting to stay in the game is completely understandable. It was the 34-year-old slugger's first game in over three months, so it makes sense that he wanted to play the entire contest. However, it is also easy to understand why Boone decided to play things cautiously with Judge during his first game back since May 31.
Judge's return to the Yankees' lineup was not the greatest, as he went 0-for-3 at the plate with two strikeouts. Yet, when noting that he missed so much time, it makes sense that he has some rust to shake off. Nevertheless, it will now be interesting to see how Judge performs during his second game back in New York's lineup.
There is no question that the Yankees are excited to have the 11-year MLB veteran back, as he is one of baseball's most dominant players.
