The animated series “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” has set its Season 2 release date on Disney+. The second season will debut Jan. 13, 2027. Season 1 premiered in early 2025 and introduced a young, animated version of Spidey, voiced by Hudson Thames, who’s joined by some new and familiar faces in an alternate universe.
The show takes place in a separate world from Tom Holland’s MCU character and follows the early days of Peter Parker’s web-slinging career. Instead of Tony Stark showing Peter the superhero ropes, “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” puts Norman Osborn, better known in the comics as the Green Goblin and who’s voiced by Colman Domingo, in a mentor role to Spidey. And instead of Mary Jane or Ned Leeds from the MCU, Peter is joined by his friends Nico Minoru, who has mystical sorcerer abilities, and Harry Osborne, the rich son of Norman.
At the end of Season 1, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange team up to fight a mysterious symbiote alien, who leaves behind a small trace of symbiotic goo that Osborn collects and investigates. It’s revealed that one of Doctor Strange’s time-traveling portals accidentally sent the spider that bit Peter back in time, and that’s how he got his superpowers in the first place. It’s also revealed that Richard Parker, Peter’s father who was presumed dead, is in fact alive and imprisoned when Aunt May goes to visit him.
The cast includes Grace Song as Nico Minoru, Kari Wahlgren as Aunt May, Eugene Byrd as Lonnie Lincoln/Tombstone, Zeno Robinson as Harry Osborn, Hugh Dancy as Otto Octavius/Doctor Octopus, Charlie Cox as Daredevil.
