On Friday morning, NFL insider Ian Rapoport shared that Bosa suffered a calf injury in practice this past week and may miss a "few weeks" with the San Francisco 49ers. Based on Rapoport's latest report, he won't play against the Cardinals as the 49ers try to get their third win of the season.
"He's out this week against the #AZCardinals and TBD on whether he lands on IR," the NFL insider reported in his X message. In Week 3 of the 49ers' 2025 season, Bosa suffered a torn ACL and has continued to deal with lingering tendonitis and a knee condition. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Bosa pulled his calf at Thursday's practice, leading to his latest injury issue.
It's no secret that Bosa is among the NFL's elite edge rushers, and his missed games could impact the team's chances of continuing its winning streak. The 2021 Defensive Player of the Year has tallied seven tackles, including three solo tackles, so far this season. After two games, the 49ers rank ninth in pass defense, allowing just 175 yards per game.
That came from a big 27-7 season-opening win over Matthew Stafford and the Rams in Melbourne, Australia, followed by the 49ers' 35-19 win over Malik Willis and the Dolphins.
