Finland-based metal band Beast in Black has found a well of inspiration in Kentaro Miura's classic manga "Berserk."
What happens when you mix heavy metal with a passion for Kentaro Miura’s influential manga “Berserk”? You get Beast in Black, a Finland-based band led by guitarist Anton Kabanen. At “Tokyo Crazy Party,” the group’s recent two-night show in Koto Ward’s Zepp DiverCity, the five members commanded the stage in studded leather pants and jackets as a fired-up crowd sang along and bounced giddily throughout the high-octane performance.
As one of the opening acts, composer Yasuharu Takanashi performed some of his most iconic tracks from anime heavyweights “Naruto” and “Fairy Tail,” turning the evening into a surreal pop culture extravaganza.
