UFC middleweight Andre Petroski posted on social media on Thursday to announce who he will fight next. Petrovski posted on Instagram, along with a poster of the UFC "Fright" Night on Halloween, 'Petroski v.s. The bout is the first to be announced – although it has not been officially confirmed by the UFC – for the Oct. 31 card that will reportedly be head at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas at UFC Vegas 123.
The matchmaking is certainly intriguing in pitting Bekoev and Petroski against each other. Petroski has acted as an entertaining mid-low level gate-keeper; beating the likes of Gerald Meerschaert, Rodolfo Viera and the now-cut Josh Fremd, but having also lost to Cody Brundage, Cam Rowston and Edmen Shahbazyan in his last three fights. Bekoev meanwhile made his mark early in the UFC, defeating both Zach Reese and The Ultimate Fighter 2024 winner Ryan Loder by first round knockout in his first two bouts.
Subsequent losses to the quickly-ascending Yousri Belgaroui and Tresean Gore – who himself just defeated Vicente Luque at UFC 330 last weekend – have put his future with the organization in doubt. There is no doubt that Bekoev is a talent, and realistically this is very much a winnable fight. With Bekoev coming off two losses and Petroski three, there is a feeling that the loser in this one may see themselves ejected from the organization sooner rather than later.
