Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is off to an excellent start in his 2026 NFL campaign. After a relative down year with the Chiefs in 2025, Kelce already has 172 yards and a touchdown through his team's back-to-back season-opening wins. The 36-year-old tight end went for 101 yards and a touchdown on nine catches in Sunday night's primetime, overtime victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
Kelce, playing in his 14th NFL season, looks noticeably faster compared to last year. The all-time great TE is back to making defenders miss and gaining significant yards after the catch. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid credits Kelce's hard work this past offseason, which he thinks was inspired by the tight end's wife, international music superstar Taylor Swift.
"Everyone questioned with the wedding and all that, would he be out of shape? Honeymooning and all that. But he works his rear end off," Reid said.
"I think Taylor, you're putting on 4 hour shows, you've gotta work hard too. I'm sure she kicks him in the butt a little bit there, too." Kelce and the Chiefs will look to continue their positive momentum into a Week 3 matchup against the Miami Dolphins this coming Sunday.
