The Chicago Bears' offense absolutely lit up the Carolina Panthers this past Sunday, scoring 59 points in a dominant Week 1 victory. This past offseason, Bears head coach Ben Johnson expressed his aspirations to lead the highest-scoring offense in NFL history. And in Week 1, his team lived up to those sky-high hopes.
The Bears scored eight offensive touchdowns at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium. Quarterback Caleb Williams threw for 269 yards and two touchdowns, and rushed for 65 yards and another two scores with his legs. Chicago's running backs, D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai, combined for 224 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.
On Wednesday, Johnson was asked if he needs to keep his team from getting overconfident after Week 1's masterful performance. The Bears and their elite offense will look to continue this positive momentum into Sunday's Week 2 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. This NFC North clash will kick off at 1 p.m.
