The Chicago Bears took a significant leap in 2025, going 11-6 through the regular season and playing their way to the divisional round of the playoffs. But as the Bears now gear up for their 2026 campaign, head coach Ben Johnson believes his team is ready to take yet another step forward. Johnson says his team is practicing at a "championship level," something he couldn't say in 2025.
"Last year I said we were not practicing at a championship level, I am not saying that now.” Johnson and the Bears will open up their 2026 campaign with a Week 1 matchup against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. This season-opening contest should be a good indicator of how prepared Chicago is to live up to Johnson's "championship" expectations this year. Sunday's game will kick off at 1 p.m.
