News broke over the weekend that Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver and his family were mourning the passing of his 2-year-old son who was found unresponsive in a swimming pool back in June. Oliver and the Bills had kept the news private, but polarizing podcaster Tony Farmer reported the news on his X account, which has 24,200 followers. Many people didn’t appreciate the fact that Farmer had publicized Oliver’s private personal news, including quarterback Josh Allen, who made it known that he was frustrated when he found out how the news was made public.

Very, very unfortunate how it got out.” Farmer posted a story on X on Friday with the headline: “BREAKING: Bills DT Ed Oliver connected to serious tragedy; Bills claiming he is injured.” He then claimed less than an hour later that X had taken his story down, despite the fact that it’s still live on his account.

Farmer’s reporting made it seem like the Bills were covering up the death of Oliver’s son by claiming he was injured.
