Breanna Stewart added another impressive milestone to her portfolio on Tuesday. Stewart scored 22 points in the New York Liberty's 93-86 loss to the Chicago Sky. That gives her 3,008 points in 145 games with the Liberty.
Per Madeline Kenney of the New York Post, Stewart became the fastest player in WNBA history to score 3,000 points for the same team. Arike Ogunbowale previously held the record, reaching 3,000 in 150 games with the Dallas Wings. Stewart sent shockwaves across the WNBA when leaving the Seattle Storm for New York in 2023.
The reigning scoring champion won her second MVP award by averaging a career-high 23.0 points per game that season. The forward led the Liberty to a 2024 championship and received her sixth consecutive All-Star nod this season. Stewart is averaging 20.7 points and 8.1 rebounds through 36 games.
Stewart made history in a losing effort, as Natasha Cloud led the Sky to a home win with 35 points, nine rebounds and six assists. The veteran guard, who played for the Liberty last year, paid respect to her former teammate. "Her legacy is going to continue to be built, and she's still not done yet," Cloud said, per Kenney.

Stewart scored plenty before linking with the Liberty, so the three-time champion ranks 10th on the all-time leaderboard with 6,731 career points. She's 81 points away from moving to eighth ahead of Cappie Pondexter and Sue Bird, and the Liberty have seven games remaining in the regular season.
New York has three days to prepare for Saturday night's marquee showdown against the Indiana Fever.
