The Cleveland Browns are reportedly releasing veteran wide receiver Cedric Tillman, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Tillman spent three years with the Browns after the organization drafted him with the No. 74 overall pick in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Tillman was entering the final season of his rookie contract with Cleveland and was set to earn $3.6 million in 2026.
Now, he head to waivers where another NFL team can pick him up. NFL teams have until Sunday to cut their rosters down to 53 players. During the 2026 NFL Draft, the Browns used first and second round picks to draft two wide receivers.
KC Concepcion was selected with the No. 24 pick, then Denzel Boston was drafted with the No. 39 pick. With one game remaining against the New England Patriots on the preseasons schedule, the Browns have listed both Concepcion and Boston as starting wide receivers. Veteran wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, who was the No. 15 overall pick in 2020, is also listed as a starter.
Tillman missed multiple weeks of training camp, as he managed an undisclosed injury. He returned to practices this week but did not play in any of the Browns' preseason games. Across three seasons with the Browns, Tillman started in 19 games and recorded 71 catches for 833 yards and five touchdowns in 38 total games.
