Cleveland Browns assistant general manager Catherine Hickman spoke to reporters on Wednesday, wearing a sweatshirt reading "Los Angeles Made Me Do It." The Browns traded reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams in a blockbuster move earlier this offseason — a move that left many Browns fans unhappy. Hickman's sweatshirt choice resulted in some serious backlash from Cleveland fans who felt it was "tone deaf." "Are the Browns really tone deaf? Well…here’s Catherine Hickman wearing a shirt that says, "Los Angeles made me do it," while answering questions about Deshaun Watson being named the starter," Browns podcast "The Dawgs" wrote on social media.
"How do you wear that sweater speaking to the media after the Myles deal," another fan asked. "You can’t wear this sweatshirt. It doesn’t matter if it’s intentional or not, Impressions matter.
And this is an awful look," another said. "Our franchise legitimately can't even wear the correct shirt. There's a like a billion shirts that would've been better than this," another added.
"Wearing a sweatshirt saying 'Los Angeles Made Me Do It' after trading away one of the best players in franchise history to Los Angeles is… a choice," another wrote. The Browns will open up their 2026 regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 13.
