After Friday night's win over the Toronto Tempo, Caitlin Clark expressed just how crazy it is to see what her Indiana Fever teammate, Kelsey Mitchell, has done this season in the WNBA. The game featured the WNBA's best backcourt, Clark and Mitchell, combining for 61 points to lead the way in a 103-85 victory. Mitchell led the team's scoring with 33 points, after making 12 of 17 field goals and knocking down 7 of 11 3-pointers.
With that latest performance, Mitchell achieved a new WNBA scoring record. She scored her 1,022nd point of the season, the most any player has racked up in a single WNBA season, and there are still several games left for her to add to that total. Following the game, Clark appeared alongside head coach Stephanie White to give her thoughts on what her teammate has accomplished.

And for her to score the ball consistently every single night and at the clip she's doing it, how efficient she's doing it, like it's ridiculous," the Fever star said. "Like, I've never seen anything like it. I'm not sure there's some NBA players that have scored as efficiently as she has," Clark told reporters.
This season, Mitchell has a highly efficient 51.8% field-goal percentage, helping the Fever continue to win games as they push towards another WNBA Playoffs run. Alongside Mitchell, Indiana has two of the league's top two scorers, trailing only the Las Vegas Aces' A'ja Wilson for the WNBA's average points per game. Mitchell previously scored a season-high 37 points in a 91-85 loss to the Dallas Wings last month, which is one point shy of her career-high.
However, her game log reveals how consistently she's performed this season, based on the shots she's taking and making. It's rare to see Mitchell have an off-night, especially when she has a teammate like Clark who can confuse the defense and make ideal passes to her teammates for open shots. Both players remain among those discussed for WNBA MVP, although A'ja Wilson remains the strong favorite to win the award for a record fifth time.
