The Arizona Cardinals aren’t going to win anything of significance in 2026. If that hurts your feelings, you probably needed the dose of reality anyway. If it doesn’t, congratulations on not being a fan of the most futile organization in the sport.
Jacoby Brissett is the starting quarterback, and while you could do much worse than that, he isn’t exactly a playoff-caliber option to lead the young skill corps of Jeremiyah Love, Trey McBride, and Marvin Harrison Jr. Walter Nolen III, Denzel Burke, and Budda Baker are the faces of a defensive unit that didn’t undergo very many changes despite being ranked 29th in scoring (28.7 points allowed per game) in 2025. If they take any sort of step forward this season it’s a win, which is good news for this guy: Age: 392023-2025: Los Angeles Rams (Offensive Coordinator)2021-2022: New York Jets (Offensive Coordinator)2017-2020: San Francisco 49ers (Passing Game Coordinator) LaFleur has the benefit of entering his first year with zero expectations.
Arizona wasn’t able to make roster overtures this offseason, but the offensive side of the football is full of talent that should take a step forward under the tutelage of a man who has worked for both Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan. Andrew Wingard and Roy Lopez were the two lone veteran additions in the offseason, but the defense should at least take a small step forward under the continued tutelage of defensive coordinator Nick Rallis. If the new head coach can take a three-win team and make just slight improvements, that’s a win.
