The Washington Commanders suffered a 37-20 loss to the division-rival Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, dropping to 0-2 on the season. The Commanders also lost their starting quarterback Jayden Daniels, who sustained a dislocated left elbow on the final play of the first half. The third-year QB landed awkwardly on his arm as Washington attempted to tie the game with a touchdown just before the halftime break.
Instead, the Commanders went into the locker room trailing 17-10 as Daniels was attended to by medical staff. CBS analyst Damien Harris believes it's time for the Commanders to part ways with head coach Dan Quinn. "Dan Quinn needs to be gone," the former NFL running back said.
"You need to just take the points and go into halftime. Take your points and get your quarterback off the field. ... Guess what, you get your star quarterback hurt again." "Once I know an update that we can move forward with then I’ll give you that," Quinn told reporters after the game on Sunday.
"Man, are we bummed for him. He was really playing his [expletive] off. We will rally so hard around Marcus [Mariota] until Jayden’s back.
That’s what we talked about as a team.” Initial X-rays didn't show any fractures, but Daniels will undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury on Monday.
