The Kansas City Chiefs' offseason addition of running back Kenneth Walker III couldn't have turned out any better through the first four games of the 2026 NFL season. Walker leads the NFL in rushing with 537 yards, more than Atlanta's Bijan Robinson, Buffalo's James Cook, Baltimore's Derrick Henry and Indianapolis' Jonathan Taylor. The reigning Super Bowl MVP also has four rushing touchdowns to go along with 12 catches for 84 yards and two additional scores through the air.
Walker's 537 rushing yards represent the most the through first four games of the NFL season over the last 15 years. The next highest number over that span is the 534 yards recorded by DeMarco Murray, who now serves as the Chiefs' running backs coach. "Nothin' like breaking your own coach's record," the Chiefs wrote on social media in response to this milestone.
Behind Walker's historic production, the Chiefs are 4-0 to open up the 2026 season. Following this past Sunday's win over the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders, Kansas City now enters its Week 5 bye. The Chiefs will return to the field for a Week 6 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.
