The Indianapolis Colts have added to their wide receiver depth following their 30-13 win over the Washington Commanders in Week 4. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Colts have signed former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Quez Watkins to their practice squad. With this move, the Colts are taking a chance on a wide receiver who has some past NFL experience.
Watkins last played in an NFL regular season game during the 2023 season when he was with the Eagles. Now, he will be looking to change that by impressing while on the Colts' practice squad. Since the 2023 season, Watkins has been on the practice squads of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals, and Eagles.
Now, he will be hoping to get elevated to the Colts' active roster by impressing on their practice squad. Overall, there is no real risk in the Colts taking a look at Watkins on their practice squad. He will provide them with a bit more depth, which is never a bad thing for an NFL team to have.
In 49 career NFL games over four seasons, Watkins has posted six touchdowns, 98 receptions, and 1,249 receiving yards.
