Despite the loss, Chicago remains in second place in the National League Central behind arguably the best team in baseball, the Milwaukee Brewers. The Cubs also retained the NL Wild Card lead, which sits at three games over the over the Philadelphia Phillies for the second wild card spot and five games over the San Diego Padres for the final wild card spot. While just 2-4 in their last six games, the Cubs sit in solid position for the postseason with fewer than 30 games remaining on the schedule.
