Kyle Tucker's first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers has been the worst of his nine-season MLB career. Tucker, who signed a four-year, $240 million contract with the defending World Series champions this offseason, is struggling both offensively and defensively. He is batting a career-worst .230 and making defensive errors on simple plays.
During Monday's game against the Colorado Rockies, Tucker went 0-for-5 to extend his hitless streak to 25 at-bats in the last seven games. He also dropped a routine fly ball in right field in the bottom of the seventh inning. Dodgers broadcaster Eric Karros said Los Angeles should consider sending Tucker to Arizona for a reset period before the postseason begins.
This would allow Tucker, who has been booed by fans at Dodger Stadium, to reset in a fan-free environment. But it is clear Tucker's poor performances are starting to impact his confidence. Training in Arizona could be a good opportunity for Tucker to reset before the Dodgers begin their chase for a third consecutive World Series title.
