Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided an update on center fielder Andy Pages' recovery from a hand fracture. Pages fractured his hand after being hit by a 100.2 mph sinker in the third inning by Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Bubba Chandler during the Dodgers' 5-4 win on Friday. Pages remained in the game briefly before leaving in the fifth.

Roberts told reporters on Sunday that he believes Pages underwent minor surgery on his hand. He also said Pages had a compression screw inserted into the fifth metacarpal bone of his left hand to try to expedite the recovery process. Even though Pages underwent surgery, he is still expected to return in time for the postseason.

"I think it’s certainly gonna be four weeks as the floor for [Pages] to be back with us, but, like I told him in the X-ray room, the season is not over for him, and we expect him back [at] full health.” While Pages recovers from the injury, the Dodgers called up outfielder Alek Thomas from Triple-A. The Dodgers acquired Thomas in a trade with the Arizona Diamondbacks in May, and he made his club debut on Saturday in the second game of the series against the Pirates. Across two games with the Dodgers, Thomas went 2-for-7 with two RBIs and started in center field in both games.
