The Philadelphia Eagles will take the field for a primetime "Monday Night Football" matchup against the Chicago Bears later this evening. Just a few hours before kickoff, the Eagles announced the elevation of two players from the practice squad — including veteran tight end Zach Ertz. Ertz signed with the Eagles' practice squad last week following the injury news for starting tight end Dallas Goedert, who suffered a sprained MCL during a Week 2 matchup against the Tennessee Titans.
Ertz, 35, spent his first seven full NFL seasons in Philadelphia. The three-time Pro Bowler last took the field for the Eagles in 2021, before he was traded to the Arizona Cardinals. Eagles rookie Eli Stowers and fellow tight end Grant Calcaterra are both on the injured reserve, leaving Ertz, Johnny Mundt, and E.J.
Jenkins as the only healthy TE options on the 53-man roster. Through 13 games with the Washington Commanders in 2025, Ertz reeled in 50 catches for 504 yards and four touchdowns. He suffered a season-ending ACL tear in Week 14, but is now fully recovered and ready to go.
Monday's game against the Bears will kick off at 8:15 p.m.
