Nick Sirianni won't introduce more change to a ransacked Philadelphia Eagles offense. The Eagles dropped to 2-4 following Sunday's 25-14 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Without star quarterback Jalen Hurts, who has since been ruled out for the season after doctors discovered blood clots in his lungs, the offense mustered 222 total yards at home.
On Monday, Sirianni confirmed that offensive coordinator Sean Mannion will continue to call plays. However, per The Athletic's Zach Berman, the head coach said, "Everything's on the table" to fix the offense. Mannion replaced Kevin Patullo as Philadelphia's offensive coordinator this season after a year as the Green Bay Packers' quarterbacks coach.
Six games into the job, the Eagles rank 30th in total yards while scoring just 17.7 points per game. However, Mannion hasn't had a unit at close to full strength. All-Pro offensive tackle Lane Johnson abruptly retired earlier this month, and the Eagles traded Pro Bowler Cam Jurgens the next day.
Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert have each missed two games, and Tanner McKee will now lead the short-handed offense. Much has gone wrong for the Eagles this season, but they're far from out of a wide-open NFC East race. They'll play each division opponent in a pivotal three-game stretch, starting with next Monday's Week 7 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Playing poorly against the division could prompt the Eagles to sell before the Nov. 10 trade deadline. Much of that hinges on whether Mannion can help McKee and a reeling offense find some life after scoring 58 points during an ongoing four-game losing streak.
