As of Tuesday evening, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had thrown 13 interceptions through 16 training camp practices. Over the past four training camps combined, Hurts had thrown 15 picks — according to team reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks. When speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was asked about this influx in turnovers for Hurts ahead of the 2026 season.
He’s trying things," Fangio said, via Eagles reporter Cayden Steele. Hurts is entering yet another season under a new offensive coordinator. First-year OC Sean Mannion is completely overhauling the team's offensive scheme — a scheme that Hurts and his unit are learning through trial and error.
Hurts recorded just six interceptions through 16 regular-season games last season. He's only thrown double-digit picks once in his NFL career, when he recorded 15 in 2023. The Eagles will close out their preseason schedule with a matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday night.
Then, they'll begin their regular-season schedule with a Week 1 matchup against the Washington Commanders on Sept. 13.
