The shorthanded Atlanta Falcons defense needed to add a pass-rusher this week as they prepare to host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The Falcons defense was able to sack Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams four times, but the unit still wound up allowing 31 points in an eight-point loss in Week 6. Per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Falcons are signing pass-rusher Charles Snowden from the Washington Commanders practice squad.

"With Washington this year, Snowden was with the Raiders the last three seasons." The Chicago Bears signed Snowden as an undrafted free agent in 2021. He's spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Las Vegas Raiders and Dallas Cowboys.
The six-foot-six, 250-pound outside linebacker has appeared in 33 games and started 18 games. He's made 67 tackles, 4.5 sacks, eight tackles for loss, one interception and six passes defensed in his career. The move comes amid an injury to rookie linebacker Kendal Daniels, who was carted off the field in Sunday's loss to the Bears after tackling tight end Colston Loveland.
Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski told reporters on Monday that he wasn't sure about Daniels' status against the 49ers. He did say the Falcons feel good about where he is after the scary moment on Sunday. "All positive news on Kendal Daniels," Stefanski said, via the Falcons' website.
"He's here, back in the building today. He got back from the hospital to the locker room last evening after the game, which I think you guys may have saw. Feel very very fortunate that he got the treatment he got, but also that we feel really good about where he is." After the loss to Chicago, the Falcons are 2-4, and tied for second place in the NFC South with the New Orleans Saints behind the 3-2 Carolina Panthers.
