Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave was released in September 2026 to commercial and critical acclaim. The game brings back the classic elements that made the series popular while introducing some interesting innovations, too. And there's more to come.
In a sneaky shadow drop earlier this week, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems revealed that Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will receive multiple DLCs. The expansion pass, available now, will offer a wealth of content, including new weapons, allies, outfits, and the most promising news of all: additional routes. The first wave adds four new weapons, available through the Fortune’s Weave expansion pass on the Nintendo eShop.
Though the game calls them Prototypes, these relics are based on the Heroes’ Relics from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Below, we’ve listed the four weapons available to players and who they originally belonged to in Three Houses. The second wave of content adds outfits and new allies to the player’s roster and is expected to arrive during the 2026 holiday season.
Flame Lords Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda will all receive additional outfits, which players can swap back to their originals at any time. Better yet, those outfits can be worn by their allies so, if you really want to, your entire roster units can rock the colors of your favorite in-game faction. Players will also have the opportunity to play as the Dagdan gods Aurora, Smyrnos, and Jurah in Part 3 — where these godly entities join the Promised One’s army.
While their power isn’t absolute and they can perish, they bring overwhelming gameplay strength you won’t want to pass up. The most exciting news, though, is the third wave of content, which will add four new stories to Fortune’s Weave. These stories will focus on the four other rival lords featured in the game: Anatolia, Talimun, Orchel, and Bertrand.
Fire Emblem fans learned from an Intelligent Systems AMA that Fortune’s Weave originally featured eight protagonists, but the team considered that too ambitious and cut it to four, adding avatar character Eshmel to help tie the routes together. However, Intelligent Systems seems to have changed its mind: Wave 3 will feature chapters about these cut lords and their stories. Since many players are working through four routes in an already lengthy game, taking on four more sounds like a monumental task.
