The New York Giants got their running game back on track in Sunday's Week 7 win over the Houston Texans, rushing for 188 yards on the road. Each of the Giants' three running backs — Tyrone Tracy Jr., Cam Skattebo and Devin Singletary — notched a rushing touchdown in the victory. Unfortunately for the Giants, this three-headed running back attack has taken a significant hit.
On Tuesday, the team placed Tracy on the injured reserve with a hamstring issue — ruling him out for at least the next four games. "We're going to put Tyrone Tracy on IR," Giants general manager Joe Schoen told reporters on Tuesday. In a corresponding move, the Giants signed running back Greg Desrosiers off the Los Angeles Chargers' practice squad.
Tracy had 15 yards and one touchdown on six carries in Sunday's win over the Texans. Skattebo led the way with 124 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, while Singletary capped off the game with a game-winning touchdown run in overtime. Tracy's earliest opportunity to return to the field is a Week 13 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
The Giants, who lead the NFC East with a 4-2-1 record, now enter their Week 8 bye.
