The New York Giants have suffered blow after blow since the 2026 season started. Quarterback Jaxson Dart went down with a season-ending knee injury in a Week 2 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, and star edge-rusher Brian Burns suffered a season-ending ACL injury the week after. New York addressed Dart’s loss by trading a fifth-round pick to the former Minnesota Vikings for QB J.J.
McCarthy, the No. 10 overall pick back in 2024. McCarthy is expected to compete with Jameis Winston for the starting job. While there’s fewer edge-rushers available via trade — and certainly none the caliber of Burns — the Giants could be eyeing another big trade to shore up their defense.
