The New York Giants took the field for a joint practice with the Miami Dolphins on Thursday, and wide receiver Malik Nabers did not participate. Nabers is still recovering from the torn ACL he suffered during Week 4 of the Giants' 2025 campaign. However, he returned to participate in his first full-speed live drills earlier this week.
Giants head coach John Harbaugh said Nabers did not participate in Thursday's joint practice with the Dolphins because it's “not as controlled of an environment” as they want, via NFL reporter Cameron Wolfe. The Giants are hopeful that Nabers will be able to return to the field for their Week 1 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 13. Thursday's practice absence is consistent with the cautious mindset the team has adopted with Nabers' recovery process.
Through 15 regular-season games as the Giants' No. 6 overall pick in 2024, Nabers reeled in 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns — earning a Pro-Bowl selection. Before his season-ending ACL tear last year, he had 18 catches for 271 yards and two scores. The Giants will kickoff against the Dolphins at 4 p.m.
