New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh was kind enough to tell beat reporters that wide receiver Malik Nabers was a full participant at Wednesday's padded practice. Of course, the status of Nabers' participation would eventually be seen publicly on the Week 1 injury report for the Giants. Nabers is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last September.
Reporters tried to follow up for more details during Harbaugh's news conference, wanting to know if Nabers was expected to play against the Dallas Cowboys on "Sunday Night Football." "I can just say this right now," Harbaugh said, via video from SNY Giants. "Let me put a stop to all these questions cause I'm not going to tell you who is playing in the game.
I'm not going to tell you who is starting. I'm not going to tell you what package we have in. I'm not going to tell you what plays we're running.
I'm not going to tell you any of that, okay. "So we can make it great and have a great press conference, or we can make it uncomfortable. But I'm not going to tell you because when you know, the Cowboys know, and every other team knows and that's not in the competitive interest of our football team.
I think you can respect that." Based on Nabers being a full participant on the injury report, one would assume the Cowboys are preparing for Nabers to play in the game. Still, Harbaugh is going with an old-school approach when talking about injuries, trying to keep as many secrets as possible before Sunday night.
