Leading up to my wedding in May, I was just like most other brides—incredibly stressed. Finishing all the last-minute tasks was intense, and I felt so worried about the weather holding out. When my wedding day finally rolled round, I felt physically great.
I was so excited to marry my love, Dylan, and it turned out to be the greatest day I could have wished for. I wanted to enjoy every moment of the celebration, knowing that Dylan and I were flying to Italy for our honeymoon just two days later. During the workouts, I was easily fatigued which was odd, but I just attributed that to the lack of air conditioning and the wine the night before. I guess I couldn’t expect myself to be in peak physical condition in the middle of a vacation. After that, we made our way to Monopoli for the final leg of the trip.
The day after our arrival, I woke up early to go for a run around the city. After about half a mile, I felt short of breath and a bit dizzy. By the time I reached the one-mile mark, I had to stop to catch my breath by the marina.
