Jacob Misiorowski requested help from Milwaukee Brewers fans before they open the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday night. Misiorowski will start Game 1 after posting a 1.80 ERA and 252 strikeouts during a dominant second season. The likely National League Cy Young Award winner wasn't as unhittable in his NLCS outing, but he held the Los Angeles Dodgers to one run over 4.1 innings to start the sweep.
Ahead of Friday's start, Misiorowski explained that he feeds off the home crowd to get in the zone. "I need to feel the fans get into it," Misiorowski said Wednesday on The Pat McAfee Show. "This crowd out here in Milwaukee has been the best.
These people have been getting crazy after it every postseason outing we have. That first pitch in the warmup of hearing the fans get after it and get up and get loud, that's been the big one to really lock me in." Fans at American Family Field have done their part throughout the 2026 campaign. Misiorowski posted a 1.52 ERA and 0.77 WHIP in 16 spectacular home starts, never once allowing more than three runs.
Eliminating the Dodgers made Misiorowski the easy choice to take the mound in Game 1. The 24-year-old will receive 11 days of rest before opposing the Rays, who will counter with their own ace. Drew Rasmussen has pitched Tampa Bay to the World Series with three postseason gems.
The 31-year-old righty has allowed just three runs over 21 innings, including a huge Game 5 ALCS victory over the Cleveland Guardians. Game 1 of the World Series starts Friday at 8 p.m.
