A once-regular rivalry is finally back after a five-year break when the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers host the Liberty Flames on Thursday night to get college football Week 4 started. The teams met every year from 2003-16 as members of FCS before both transitioned to FBS. They squared off in the 2020 Cure Bowl.
Liberty won that meeting 37-34 in overtime to take an 8-7 lead in the all-time series between teams that are separated by about 300 miles and the Virginia-South Carolina border. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday, Sept. 24 at Brooks Stadium in Conway, S.C.
