Supporters of President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement have embraced an unflattering caricature that was created to mock them. Earlier this week, a satirical X account with the handle @WearForbidden posted a video with the caption: "Conservative Inc influencers after the group chat sends out the new talking points." The video features an AI-generated character with a bloated face, wearing a MAGA hat and stained shirt as he sits at a computer and posts comments online. "You’re scared of Flock cameras?
You carry a cellphone with GPS all day. What’s the difference?" the character says before chugging a beer and stuffing Cheetos in his mouth. We’re just bombing Iran," he adds later in the clip.
"We need the data centers. We have to win the AI war." The clip quickly went viral on X, garnering more than 13 million views as of Friday. Many of the comments mocked the character, some calling it an "accurate" depiction of a typical MAGA supporter.
But others said they loved the character and described him as a "patriot." Then on Thursday, another X account with the handle @SoveyX shared an AI-made video featuring the same character smoking a cigar, firing a rifle, riding a mechanical bull and taking part in other activities. "The left created this little guy to insult us. We adopted him," the caption added.
Several prominent conservative influencers responded with enthusiasm, saying they loved the character. "I love this sht!" Gunther Eagleman, a prominent conservative influencer, wrote in response to that video. Meanwhile, several MAGA supporters shared their own AI-made videos featuring the character.
"They tried to insult MAGA and accidentally gave us a mascot," Chad Ledger wrote on X, alongside a video of the character wearing a "MAGA 2028 shirt" and hair inspired by Trump. Ledger added: "We can laugh at ourselves. The left needs a safe space and a socialist to redistribute the punchline." Catturd, a right-wing influencer whose real name is Phillip Buchanan, called the character "glorious.
