Mariah Carey will mark the 25th anniversary of her Glitter soundtrack with its first-ever vinyl reissue as well as a digital edition stocked with unreleased recordings. While Glitter the film, released theatrically in September 2001 and starring Carey, was met with harsh reviews and a lackluster box office — it didn’t help that the movie arrived soon after 9/11 —Carey’s soundtrack has become a fan favorite, even inspiring a #JusticeforGlitter campaign in 2018 to raise the soundtrack to Number One on the iTunes charts. I’m endlessly grateful to my fans who kept championing it all these years, and I hope even more people can finally hear it for what it is.
