Melania Trump says she brokered truce in war-torn Ukrainian city

First Lady Melania Trump said in a surprise announcement Friday she had brokered a localized ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in the ravaged city of Oleshky, where citizens are trapped and running out of food. Her unusual intervention comes as her husband, U.S. President Donald Trump, pursues a full end to Russia’s war with a sudden pivot to Moscow that has alarmed Kyiv.
