The wait for Metaphor: ReFantazio on Nintendo Switch 2 just got a little easier. A demo for Atlus' 2024 fantasy RPG has begun popping up on some regional eShops, allowing players to dive in. The full game is set to be released on Switch 2 on Nov. 12, just over two years after its initial release on all other major platforms.
As spotted by RPG Site, the game's Prologue Demo has started to appear for download as of Oct. 12. Currently, the demo is available on the Japanese and Australian eShops, though players in other regions should expect to see the demo appear within a short time. As soon as it is available in your region, you should see the "Download Demo" option on the game's store page directly underneath the pre-order option.
The Prologue Demo is also available on other platforms as well and allows players to enjoy the opening section of the RPG, with saves transferring to the main game. The demo concludes after players reach a certain point in the story or after three in-game days pass, whichever comes first. That should still give you the chance to play a handful of hours to get a feel for the experience and whether it is worth your money or not.
The wait for Metaphor: ReFantazio on Switch 2 was a long one, but it doesn't look like that will be the case for every Atlus game in the future. Next year is already looking good for Switch 2 users, as Atlus is set to release Persona 4 Revival on the console on May 20. While that is still three months later than the game is set to be released on other platforms, it is hardly as bad as a two-year wait.
Looking even further into the future, Atlus has already confirmed that Persona 6 will launch on Switch 2. Furthermore, Sega has announced that the Switch 2 version will have a physical release. Unfortunately, this doesn't shed much light on when the game will actually come out, but we should hear more on that after Persona 4 Revival is released.
