Sir Andy Murray has revealed he could still be involved with coaching Jack Draper ahead of the former British No 1's return from injury at the start of next year. Draper revealed that he would not be returning to tennis until 2027 at the earliest in an Instagram video released earlier in September, having missed all four Grand Slams in 2026 after continuing to struggle with a bone bruise in his dominant left arm. Murray - who joined Draper's stream for a brief spell in the summer after he split with former coach Jamie Delgado - reasserted his desire to join back up with the Englishman once he returns to full fitness: Please use Chrome browser for a more accessible video player "Yeah, there's still plans to help him [Draper]," Murray told Sky Sports.
"I don't know where that is. I'm not entirely sure because his ranking will have dropped. "I don't know if he would get into Australia and potentially relying on wild cards and things like that, so we'll see.
"Hopefully he'll be back on the court training again soon and getting ready for the new season - it has been an interesting year." Draper said he was in a "difficult place" after his first-round defeat by Martin Landaluce in the Cincinnati Open in August, admitting he was struggling to escape the mental fatigue that had built up during 15 months of battling serious injury. Murray acknowledged the challenges faced in his time coaching Draper, but asserted that he was still able to enjoy his limited time alongside the former world No 4. "I've been doing a little bit of coaching, which I've enjoyed, but also Jack's had a few injuries and has been off the tour for quite a while, so I haven't been able to get into that quite as much as I would have liked.
