NFL Investigating Official Who Hurled Obscenities at Cardinals TE Trey McBride

The NFL is looking into an incident where a referee yelled expletives at Cardinals Pro Bowl TE Trey McBride.

Between the Arizona Cardinals-New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings-Miami Dolphins games, social media wasn’t safe for any NFL referee with the blunders they had. But perhaps the most egregious situation of the day came when line judge Jeff Seeman was caught on camera shouting “F--- you, f--- you” at Cardinals tight end Trey McBride. According to CBS sideline reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala, McBride didn’t do much to warrant the expletive-fueled reaction from Seeman that he got.

"I was standing right there," she said. "What’s wild is that it all started with Trey McBride saying 'please' when pleading his case for a PI flag. He was heated for sure, but I never heard a curse from him.

The harshest he got was, 'You’re ruining the game.'" As video of the interaction went viral on social media, NFL Players Association executive director JC Tretter made it known that he wasn’t happy with an official acting that way toward a player. We expect the NFL to hold officials to the same standard.” It didn’t take long before the NFL decided to act on the social media backlash of what happened. "The NFL said it is reviewing the situation in which an official appears to use profanity at Cardinals TE Trey McBride," ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.

"The NFLPA Executive Director JC Tretter called for the NFL to hold the official accountable." The league will presumably speak with both Seeman and McBride to get their respective sides of the story before making a ruling on any potential punishment for either party.
